Sutherland Estate is a boutique, family owned enterprise located at Dixon’s Creek in the premium, cool climate, wine growing region of the Yarra Valley.
The stunning cellar door is open for wine tastings and sales, as well as being available for weddings, conferences, private functions and accommodation.
Sutherland Estate has one of the most spectacular vineyard sites in Australia. On high ground at the southern edge of the Great Divide, the cathedral-ceilinged cellar door and large outside deck command impressive views down the Yarra Valley and far into the distance. Birdsong fills the air, and the highway seems far away. Cheese platters are available here to accompany the estate wines.

PIMPERNEL VINEYARD COLDSTREAM

A TRUE ARTISAN BOUTIQUE WINERY
Pimpernel Vineyards was founded in 2001 by Mark and Fiona Horrigan with the dedication of producing unique wines of distinction and longevity.
Like the great producers of the world, Pimpernel’s approach to winemaking starts with the conviction that extraordinary wine comes only from exceptional fruit. With this as our underpinning philosophy and inspired by the great wines and traditions of Burgundy, Rhône and Loire Valleys in France, we at Pimpernel are one of the few dry-grown (non-irrigated) vineyards in the Yarra Valley. We work the vines hard to delve deep into the subsoils and produce low yields of intensely flavoured fruit.
Pimpernel Estate consists of only 16 acres of vines and yet we perform over 50 separate small batch vinifications each year. This is done to ensure that the unique character of each ferment is captured and that a vast array of base components can be assessed and assembled to create complete wines of depth and complexity that not only reflect the vintage but our interpretation of it.
MORGANS WINERY & DISTILLERY SEVILLE
FANTASTIC SETUP WITH QUALITY WINES AND DISTILLED SPIRitS
First planted in 1971 Morgans Winery is the oldest Vineyard in Upper Yarra. From their single vineyard, all of the grapes are handpicked from lovely old vines, foot stomped, basket pressed, aged only in French oak, hand bottled and hand labelled to produce wines with depth, character and a soul, that reflects all the work that goes into producing some of the best wines in the Yarra Valley.
You would be hard pressed to find a better way to spend the afternoon than sitting and taking in picturesque views over the Warburton Valley in their very relaxed atmosphere, sampling a quality range of handcrafted wines matched with beautiful local and international gourmet cheeses.
Then in November 2019 they opened up their Distillery, and unlike most “distilleries” they make all their base spirits here on site. Their Gins and Vodkas are made from spirit distilled from fermented whey. They are one of only 2 whey spirit producers in Australia. Their whey is sourced from small local cheese makers here in the Yarra Valley. Whilst being more difficult, and far more time consuming, the spirit produced through this method is world renowned for its incredible smoothness and rounded mouth feel. Their botanicals are sourced locally, where possible, and the Sloe Berries used for their Sloe Gin are hand-picked by themselves from 200-year-old hedges at a secret location in Northern Tasmania.

Drive through the township of Seville on the Warburton Hwy and on the left you will see Sunnyside Road. As you turn left, you will stumble across Killara Estate and it's impeccable views and rolling hills. Perfect winery for a taste of their wines and a view over the Valley.
PAYNE'S RISE WINERY
GREAT WINERY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Just before you hit Seville, turn right at Paynes Road and head up the dirt road until you see Payne's Rise. This winery has an impressive Cellar Door but the highlight is it's beautiful lawns overlooking the properties lake. Most Sundays they have live music with cheese & antipasto platters. A definite visit if in this area.
