PUNT ROAD WINERY

LARGER WINERY WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH

Everything we do comes from our home in Coldstream…ideas are born here, the grapes are grown here, and our wines are crafted and shared here. As a family owned vineyard and winery, we aim to create wines that reflect the heritage of our site, and the independent, creative energy of the Yarra Valley. Winemaker Tim Shand guides the path of fruit from more than 150 acres of estate-grown vineyards.

Winemaker Tim Shand selects fruit from over 150 acres of estate-grown vineyards on our 300 acre farm. We’ve planted several varieties over the past 27 years to best suit this site including Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. These varieties shine in different ways across these two distinctive expressions.

Our philosophy…

“We only produce wines from our own vineyard in Coldstream, a deliberate, and to us, significant decision. It gives us the opportunity to put all our focus on our one patch of dirt and provides us with a greater understanding of our site along with 13 vintages of cellar memory to draw on.”

DOMINIQUE PORTET

SOUNDS NICE BUT PRESENTS EVEN BETTER

Ninth-generation winemaker Dominique Portet chose the cool climate of aptly named Coldstream in the Yarra Valley as home to the eponymous winery he founded in 2000.
It was the culmination of a tenacious search for grapegrowing terroir to rival that of his native Bordeaux – but also the start of a new chapter in a winemaking story that has its roots in France in the early 1700s.
Now son Ben – generation 10 – heads the winemaking team, firmly observing the central tenets of this young yet historic estate: respect for tradition, understanding of site and an open mind towards contemporary practices that shape wines that are ever more refined and delicious.

OAKRIDGE

STUNNING PRESENTATION WITH AWARDS TO MATCH

Oakridge is a family-owned, Yarra Valley winery, restaurant and cellar door, originally established in 1978
alongside a ridge of oak trees.

Pioneering the wine growing region of the upper Yarra Valley, today Oakridge is an award winning winery and an internationally recognised name. Oakridge wines can be found on restaurant menus, in bottle shops and for purchase online, but there is no better place to taste than at our home in the heart of the Yarra Valley; an hour’s drive from Melbourne, in Coldstream off the Maroondah Highway.

VISIT US AT 864 MAROONDAH HIGHWAY, COLDSTREAM

Today, Oakridge is still a family owned company, supported by the Atlas/D’Aloisio family since 2007. David Bicknell, described by eminent wine writer James Halliday as “an exceptionally gifted winemaker who exemplifies all that is admirable about the movers and shakers of Australia’s wine artisans.” is our chief winemaker.

In 2012, amongst numerous awards and accolades, Oakridge was voted Australian Winery of the Year in The Age & Sydney Morning Herald Good Wine Guide. In the following year, 2013, the winery clinked champagne glasses in celebration of the new Oakridge restaurant and cellar door opening to the public. Designed by architect Denton, Corker and Marshall, the stunning new building solidified Oakridge’s place as a must-visit Yarra Valley destination.

DE BORTOLLI YARRA VALLEY

ICONIC BRAND AND JUST A STUNNING SETTING

The Yarra Valley is one of Australia's premier cool climate wine regions. Located approximately 50 km north-east of Melbourne near the towns of Yarra Glen and Healesville, the Yarra Valley is recognised for producing some of the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Australia.

The De Bortoli family cultivate three unique vineyard estates in three parts of the region. The Winery Vineyard at Dixons Creek, which is home to the winery, Cellar Door and Locale Restaurant, is in the Northern section of the Yarra Valley. The Abbey Vineyard at Tarrawarra is in the centre of the region and Lusatia Park Vineyard at Woori Yallock in the upper reaches of the Yarra River.

The Winery Estate - Dixons Creek

First planted in 1971, the vineyard is now planted to over 170 hectares of predominantly Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. In recent years, this has been joined by plantings of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Nebbiolo and Gamay Noir.

TARRAWARRA

WINE AND ART BLENDED PERFECTLY

From the outset our vision has been to produce wines of great quality and integrity amidst a location of beauty and welcome. It is a vision created to be shared. We hope you have a very special experience.”
– Marc Besen AC and Eva Besen AO.
Founders Marc and Eva Besen purchased the property at TarraWarra in 1979, initially as a family retreat. Thanks to their love of the wines of Burgundy, and with encouragement from legendary Yarra Valley winemaker Dr. John Middleton, they planted the first 6 hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in 1983. Forty years on, the 400-hectare property now encompasses 28 hectares of vines, an extensive nature reserve, cattle grazing, kitchen garden and our beautiful cellar door and restaurant. The vision to create and share a unique and beautiful place is driven by gratitude to this country that opened its arms and homes when Marc Besen arrived in 1947. Together we strive to fulfil his vision for TarraWarra, as custodians we are defined by heritage and a deep sense of place.
The TarraWarra vineyards are managed by Stuart Sissins and his team. Stuart joined TarraWarra in 1997, coming from a background in farming. His innate sense and understanding of farming have guided our vineyards through the changing seasons to consistently produce the high-quality fruit that earns our wines lofty accolades every year. His knowledge of every site on the property is a constant in informing our decisions for the future.
The vineyard at TarraWarra is comprised of 28 hectares divided into 29 separate blocks, which are spread across the property’s 400 hectares. While TarraWarra Estate is best known for exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, our more recent additions have attracted much attention and critical acclaim. These include J Block Shiraz, K Block Merlot, and our newest wines, Barbera and Nebbiolo. These single-vineyard wines express the unique terroir of distinct sites on the property, while the Estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are blended from across the property and represent the essence of the Estate. Under the watchful eye of winemaker Clare Halloran, all of TarraWarra Estate’s wines are meticulously grown, handpicked, vinified and aged on the estate.
TarraWarra Estate's respect for sustainability and provenance make the property an internationally recognised place to visit in the Yarra Valley. Our subterranean cellar door makes for an unforgettable tasting experience, while the deck shaded by native peppercorn trees, and with expansive views of our surrounds, is the perfect place to linger over a glass of wine. Our restaurant team, headed by manager Darren Fraser and chef Mark Ebbels, have created a wonderful dining experience with a menu inspired by our kitchen garden and local produce.

chandon.jpg

DOMAINE CHANDON

MORE THAN JUST BUBBLES

During the mid-1980s, in a flash of serendipity, a team of Chandon’s wine whisperers struck gold at Green Point, an old dairy farm in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. The cool climate and great soil combined to make a picture-perfect home for Domaine Chandon. Since 1986, this is where Australia’s leading méthode traditionnelle producer has been confidently crafting sparkling and still wines that are stamped with the distinct style that is Chandon.
Chandon’s spirit of possibility continues to burn brightly, unlocking the potential for wine production in India and China, and believing in the promise of possibility – beautiful surprises are just around the corner.
And if that introduction has tickled your fancy, and you want to know more, then the highly acclaimed "Champagne Tour" is a must for those looking to understand the Valley a bit more.

LEVANTINE

WORLD CLASS CUISINE WITH WINES TO MATCH

Every member of the Levantine Hill team is committed to pursuing perfection, no matter how much pain is involved. Whether they’re part of our winemaking team, our restaurant and events team, or our management and sales team, it is that commitment, that desire to never compromise on quality that has drawn them to join the Levantine Hill vision.

Levantine Hill is a story of what becomes possible when you have a dream of building a lasting family legacy.

Levantine Hill is the perfect merger of two vineyards right in the heart of the Yarra Valley. On the one side, a vineyard producing superior grapes since the 1990s. On the other, lovingly planted family blocks right alongside a Truffiére surrounding our Homestead. Together, this combined estate is pure testament to the passion and toil of dedicated human hands and man’s tenuous relationship with the nurturing love of Mother Nature.

With the glorious Yarra Valley as its inspiration, the building that is home to the our Signature Restaurant, All Day Dining space and Cellar Door is a triumph of architecture, featuring grand high ceilings and sweeping curves that blend seamlessly in the rolling hills that surround it.

ZONZO ESTATE

QUALITY WINES COUPLED WITH FINE FOOD

At Zonzo Estate, we are artisans of the good life, and we believe that good things are even better when shared with those we love. Heart warming food in abundance matched with the fruit from our vines in a setting that inspires, impresses, and embraces all.

We pride ourselves on serving authentic Italian cuisine made from both local and imported ingredients. Each dish is matched with wines from our vineyard, which is best enjoyed in the company of loved ones.

Our wine label was born from a simple aspiration — to bring friends the best drop possible. Perseverance coupled with a devotion to restore the Estate’s rich winemaking past has seen the production of premium quality wines.

The drop itself is crafted by highly accomplished Yarra Valley winemaker Caroline Mooney.

Raised in the Yarra Valley, Caroline is a connoisseur of the region, she is familiar with its seasons,  topography, the captivating vistas, and the extraordinary winescape of the upper and lower reaches of the valley.

Her knowledge and love of the region makes her the perfect person to create and bring to life the Zonzo wine label.

Soumah_edited.jpg

SOUMAH OF YARRA VALLEY

SPECTACULAR WINERY NESTLED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YARRA VALLEY

Soumah of Yarra Valley set out to select an exact location that delivered every advantage of a cool climate, undulating topography and ancient soils. We then wanted to bring some focus to our endeavour. After being resident overseas for many years, we found the elegance and honesty of northern Italian wines and food is what inspires us.

We grow varieties you would expect to find in the Yarra Valley, such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as northern Italian varieties and styles including Brachetto, Nebbiolo, Marzemino, Savarro and Pinot Grigio. We endeavour to search for native northern Italian vines to plant at Soumah to continue the quest to build a little bit of Italy in the Yarra Valley.

Only an hour drive from Melbourne, taste our award-winning wines at our cellar door and dine at our restaurant, Trattoria d’Soumah, while taking in the view. For something more exclusive, book a private tutored tasting in our Premium Wine Room or indulge in an extended stay at Ville d’Soumah, a spacious country-style property

located in our vineyard.

The Yarra Valley cool climate focus allows SOUMAH to specialise in wine styles and varieties typical of northern Italy as well as south-eastern France. Our Hexham vineyard on the Warramate foothills is the mainstay of production, although we do look for small parcels of premium fruit from other vineyards to bring additional Single Vineyard wines to the market. Our most awarded wines are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with recent recognition for our Viognier and Syrah as well as a passion for northern Italian varieties of Nebbiolo, Brachetto, Pinot Grigio and Savarro (or Savagnin).

SOUMAH is proudly a 5-Star Winery according to Halliday Wine Companion.
